AMCHAM SHANGHAI

OverviewResourcesNewsIntelligenceContact

The intention to create a Shanghai Free Trade Zone was announced by the Chinese government in July 2013 and on August 22, the State Council approved the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (SPFTZ). The SPFTZ aims to create an experimental space to test major policy reforms in the areas of financial services, trade, investment, and other sectors to further China’s goal of becoming a more open and innovative economy.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AmCham Shanghai) welcomes the formation of the SPFTZ and hopes to engage with authorities and business to have a continuous role in its development. We eagerly await the announcement of policies that will govern business activity within the SPFTZ and enhance China and Shanghai’s global competitiveness.

AmCham Shanghai thanks FTZ Program Partners and Supporting Organization for their contributions to the Free Trade Zone Program. In association with Chamber members and staff, Program Partners and Supporting Organization support the Chamber in providing resources and information to members on benefits and awareness of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
