Shanghai Discovery Children's Museum is a nonprofit organization whose missiong is to enrich children's lives by providing an exciting and interesting learning environment through hands-on, interactive exhibits and educational programs.
As a supplement to formal education, children's museums have been a strong attraction to both parents and children due to their unique way of making learning into a fun interactive process for the children. There are more than 350 children's museums around the world although none can be found in China so far. Shanghai Discovery Children's Museum presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity for public access. Shanghai Discovery Children's Museum has attracted more than 5,000 children and their parents by its mobile exhibits - Amazing Bubbles and Flying Things in summer 2002. |

| According to the level of your support, your company may enjoy many benefits of using the facility for a staff/family function; having your name on an exhibit and museum entrance wall; free passes or memberships that you may contribute to your staff, customers, or vendors; invitation to special events, etc. Now we have seven levels of monetary donation programs: Museum Donor: $500 to $999; benefits: Acknowledgement on Museum Donor Recognition Wall; 10 museum passes; Newsletter; Associate: $1000 to $1,999: benefits: above plus 20 museum passes; listing on museum annual report; Contributor: $2,000 to $2,999: benefits: above plus: framed certificate of appreciation; invitation to exhibit preview and openings; Supporter: $3,000 to $4,999: above plus: 5% discount on museum rental; Sponsor: $5,000 to $9,999: above plus 30 museum passes; 10% discount on museum rental; Benefactor: $10,000 to $24,000: above plus 50 museum passes; 20% discount on museum rental; Patron: $25,000 and up: all above plus 100 museum passes; 30% discount on museum rental; one free rental of entire museum; recognition in conjunction with a specific museum exhibit, program, or event; participate in creation and development of museum exhibits, programs and activities.

 | Exhibit sponsorship |
| Choose an exhibit from a variety of areas: baby and toddler area with a baby's corner, a toddler play area and a tree house, a mini-library; kid's market; kids medical center; kid's post office; kitchen and dinning area; science station; library; birthday party room; art studio; kids stage; etc. Sponsor will have the opportunity to design and build/develop the exhibit. Company image and product may be used for the exhibit. Company logo will be prominently displayed at the exhibit.

| Many companies have employee donation matching programs. Let the children's museum in your list. For companies that have matching program you may let your employees have the choice of making the museum as their donation recipient.

- Opportunities for In-Kind Assistance |

| We would appreciate manufactures of art/office supplies donating their products such as paint, papers, crayons and pencils, and brushes, etc.; Office supplies and electronics such as a copier and copy papers; a cash register, baby and toddler toys, soft blocks, mirrors; costumes; puzzles; train table and train sets; exhibit building materials such as plywood, Plexiglas, carpets, fabrics, books and bookshelves and furniture.

| We appreciate assistance in architectural design, graphic design and printing, publication; exhibit design and fabrication, interior decoration, legal consultation, accounting and auditing services, and educational program development.

| For example: your customers may get a coupon to visit our museum at discounted price;
A special snack/play/activity area featuring your company's product;
Free sampling of your product at the museum;
Print coupon or information at the back of your receipts, menus, and shopping bags.

| Medical training seminars for parents and teachers; early childhood educational workshops; story telling, music lessons, foreign language workshops and many other type of programs may be a good topic for museum visitors.

- Opportunities for Volunteering Time |

 | Museum helper |
| Come and enjoy a couple of hours working at the museum: you may choose from the following areas of help: Administrator: help with filing, record keeping, copying, answering phones; Receptionist: greeting visitors, admission fee collection or ticket selling; Floor facilitator: work at certain exhibit areas or the whole museum as needed, directing visitors, explaining exhibits and their educational functions, demonstrations, simple exhibit maintenance, Group visit and party coordinator: take orders and schedule for group visits and birthday parties, scheduling workshop and programs; Program leader/helper: design, lead or help with certain educational programs given at the museum, such as children creative dancing classes, art classes, story telling, shows, parenting workshops, etc. |

| Work on a specific fundraising event for a certain period of time; marketing, planning and executing fundraising event |

 | Mobile exhibits helper |
| The children's museum participates several citywide events each year to present "Amazing Bubble" mobile exhibit and other exhibits. Volunteer your time by facilitating these exhibits and events. |

 | Labor |
| Start now by involving exhibit design, model try out and evaluation, interior decoration, exhibit fabrication/construction processes. There is always work to do at the museum! |
