The World Monuments Fund (WMF) is the foremost private international organization dedicated to helping safeguard the world’s endangered cultural heritage through conservation and preservation of historically significant works of art and architecture. WMF has been active in China since 1996, helping raise visibility and financial support for the protection and restoration of more than 20 internationally recognized cultural heritage sites. In partnership with the Palace Museum, WMF is restoring the Qianlong Garden in the Forbidden City. Other long-term WMF projects in China include conservation, protection, and tourism planning at the Great Wall cultural landscape; the Shaxi Market area in Jianchuan, Yunnan; plus many others. |

- Opportunities for Financial Assistance |
| |
 | Sponsorship of WMF preservation field work at sites throughout China. |
| There are many opportunities for financial assistance to help support WMF preservation and conservation commitments in China, such as: sponsorship of education and site interpretation programming to help promote tourism and regional economic development; underwriting of technical and craftsmanship training programs; funding for technical and/or cultural exchange between China, the US, and WMF’s network of international partners. Financial assistance to help rescue and preserve China’s priceless cultural heritage can be an important complement to China’s growing economy and international stature as a world power. WMF would be pleased to offer appropriate recognition and visibility for any financial assistance for its long-term conservation projects in China, which include, among others: the restoration of the Qianlong Garden in the Forbidden City, the Great Wall cultural landscape, the Shaxi market area; Namseling Manor; the Cockcrow postal town; Qikou Town; and the Lu Mansion residential complex. WMF would be pleased to discuss these opportunities and the benefits of any financial assistance or sponsorship with any interested AmCham members.

| WMF forms lasting partnerships with many local Chinese community groups and regional government agencies to help preserve, restore and raise visibility for cultural heritage sites throughout China. In-kind assistance to help WMF efforts to rescue and preserve China’s priceless cultural heritage can be an important complement to China’s growing economy and international stature as a world power. Each regional project provides many opportunities for in-kind support of WMF’s long-term preservation and restoration projects, such as: donations of materials, technical expertise and advice; marketing and advertising; promotional efforts to help raise visibility for the importance of preserving China’s cultural heritage. WMF would be pleased to offer appropriate recognition and visibility for any in-kind assistance for its many long-term conservation projects in China and would welcome the opportunity to discuss partnerships with any AmCham member.
