AIESEC Mainland China [Education\University]

AIESEC is the international platform for young people to discover and develop their potential to provide leadership for a positive impact on society. We work in 95 countries to develop leading local students providing them with leadership skills, cultural understanding and awareness/training on responsible business. This includes running an international internship programme for Chinese students to gain international business experience and for foreign students to work in China.

  Opportunities for involvement

  - Opportunities for Financial Assistance

Expanding AIESEC's responsible leadership and cultural understanding/international internship programme into other Universities
Every week we receive requests from Universities and Student Unions to open AIESEC, but we lack the financial resoruces to grow fast enough for us to open AIESEC at these Universities. Thus many students are missing out on the opportunities AIESEC can provide, such as internships abroad, leadership development, career planning, skills training and cultural understanding

Supporting financially challenged Chinese students to work overseas to gain international business experience
Each year we send hundreds of students overseas on internships to develop cultural understanding and international business skills. They return to China and will be the country's future leaders. However many students cannot take this opportunity: the jobs are paid but the transport is not, so we need funding to allow these high potential students to travel overseas for their internships

Future leader Training Programme
e provide opportunities for hundreds of China's high-potential students to attend conferences developing their skills, inspiring them to make a difference and providing relevant career planning. We need funding to subsidise these conferences to ensure the (already low) delgeate fees do not restrict students from attending.

  - Opportunities for In-Kind Assistance

IT and Office infrastructure
We require support with providing office space for our local branches and office equipment including computers, printers, stationery etc. Branding of the company to the students is possible.

Venues for seminars and conferences
We require venues for our leadership development and CSR training conferences. Currently we use low cost out-of-town venues, but constantly search for other opportunities. The lower the cost the more leading students can attend. This is provides great exposure to the venue provider.

Transport
Lower cost travel would allow more students to take advantage of more international (and national) opportunities including internships and conferences.

  - Opportunities for Volunteering Time

Mentorship
We are looking for mentors for the 400 student members of AIESEC (mostly in Shanghai, Beijing and a few other big cities). These students are currently part of a leadership development programme and mentors will help them with their career decisions and to make the most out of the opportunities AIESEC provides them. Mentors would be expected to meet their Mentee once each month for at least 1 year.
Minimum Time Commitment: 0.5 hours/week.

Career guidance and shadowing
We are looking for professionals to provide insights into their careers and businesses for students; through presentations, work shadowing and similar things. 1 day one-off commitment
Minimum Time Commitment: 0 hours/week.

Board of Advisors for University Student Clubs
Our local university students clubs are looking for advisors to join their advisory board which will meet quarterly to give them advice on their business plan and general activities, using their professional experience one evening quartlery commitment
Minimum Time Commitment: 0 hours/week.
