Highlights of ORBIS's accomplishments include: 1, Establishing the first pediatric ophthalmology wing in western China, at Shanxi Eye Hospital. 2, Creating a model eye bank in Chongqing, in partnership with the Chongqing Health Bureau and the Chongqing Medical University First Affiliated Hospital. 3, Launching the ORBIS Taiyuan Training Center, a provincial-level facility that provides advanced training programs in various eye care techniques for doctors from Shanxi and neighboring provinces.

A new eye center in Xiangyun County, Yunnan Province
We are working to establish a new eye center in Xiangyun County, which will provide eye care services in the areas of cataract, trauma, optometry, and pediatric ophthalmology—many of these for the first time in Yunnan Province. Once the eye care center is established, it will provide treatment for at least 30,000 patients over the next three years, with at least 2,400 eye surgeries performed. By the end of ORBIS's three-year involvement, a rural primary eye care network and referral system will be integrated into the existing public health system in 13 townships. 200 community health workers will be trained, 60,000 residents will be screened for vision defects, and at least one million local residents will have received education in primary eye care. In order for the center to be able to sustain itself economically over the long-term, a multi-tier pricing system will be established, based on local income levels. This will ensure that the center will be able to provide services to area residents long after ORBIS's involvement has been completed.

Sponsorship
Sponsorship packages can be designed to accommodate a wide variety of interests. Sponsorship range from support for a onetime program or fundraising event in a single market to multi-year programs and marketing activities spanning several countries. Partnering with ORBIS International offers corporations the opportunity to be involved with the world’s only Flying Eye Hospital, our long-term blindness prevention programs, a committed corps of more than 400 volunteer ophthalmologists and the Cyber-Sight? telemedicine and education program.

Public awareness
Your corporation can help ORBIS International increase public awareness of its work by placing inserts in customer mailings, displaying brochures in retail or office locations, hosting an informational session or highlighting ORBIS in your publications.

  - Opportunities for In-Kind Assistance

Needs
Making an in-kind gift of goods or services can be a practical and resourceful way for your corporation to help advance the sight-saving work of ORBIS. Among the items that we need on a regular basis are jet fuel, airline miles, and medical and pharmaceutical supplies.

  - Opportunities for Volunteering Time

General Volunteering
ORBIS recognizes that human resources are invaluable, and we work with corporations to develop successful volunteer programs. We have an ongoing need for volunteers from the medical and aviation communities, as well as the expertise of professionals in other areas, including marketing and communications.
Minimum Time Commitment: 0 hours/week.
