Education Programs
From building schools to providing scholarships and enhancing the educational environment for children, World Vision China is committed to helping children and families escape poverty by providing better educational opportunities for them. Partner with us to give a community, a school, or a child a chance for a brighter future. In 2003 World Vision China built or did major renovations to 95 schools.

Health, Tobacco Disease and HIV/AIDS Programs
Key focuses of 2005 will be on community health programs such as nutrition, clean water, HIV/AIDS and Tobacco Disease awareness, prevention and education, immunizations, and medical relief. Together we can address the challenges that Tobacco Disease, HIV/AIDS, and other public health issues pose for poor communities in China. Help fund a test program on Prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), using Micro-Enterprise programs to promote AIDS awareness or a Tobacco Disease and HIV/AIDS collaboration effort.

Children in Extremely Difficult Circumstances (CEDC) Orphans and Special Needs Children
Our work with orphans and special needs children includes running our own facility in Tianjin as well as bringing international quality training and support to other foster homes and care providers. We also give life-changing surgeries to hundreds of orphans. Partner with us to give these children a new start! World Vision China was selected by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to be the only NGO to fund and manage part of the nation wide – "Tomorrow Plan". World Vision is investing $500,000 USD to manage and conduct all the 'Tomorrow Plan' Orphans surgeries in Yunnan province.

Area Development Programs
Work with us to develop and implement a long-term, sustainable, and holistic plan to benefit a poverty-stricken county in areas including education, health, and agriculture. World Vision China is implementing 30 project sites in 11 provinces. Over 50,000 children are participating in our programs in these locations, and their communities are being transformed. Choose a community near one of our 30 project sites to make a holistic difference in the lives of the children and families of that town. Start a special relationship with a community and see the difference that a partnership can make.

China General Fund Programs
World Vision China has many other programs in disaster relief, micro-enterprise development, environment, urban work, and agriculture and forestry. Your partnership will enable us to respond quickly to special needs in these areas.

  - Opportunities for In-Kind Assistance

Office Space
World Vision would like to open an office in Shanghai in order to facilitate communications with companies and partners in the Shanghai, Zejiang, Jiangsu area. We would like to find a donor who would be willing to donate or lease at a very reasonable price, 20-40 square meters of office space for us to set up a starter office. A central location would be preferable

Shipment and Transportation of Relief and Development Supplies
World Vision China conducts many large relief efforts in China every year. However, due to our funding procedures the time it takes for us to respond to a disaster is usually 1-2 weeks. We would like to preposition some disaster relief supplies and ship them with our first response teams to disaster stricken areas and alleviate the immediate needs that victims have. We are seeking a partner who would be willing to ship 20-30 cases of supplies 4-5 times a year to disaster areas.

Warehousing Relief and Development Supplies
In conjunction with our disaster relief efforts and donations of goods in kind, we would like to have a warehouse where we can temporarily store and sort donations of good and purchased supplies. We can also multiply our funding through purchasing items in bulk and by using modern purchasing strategies. We are looking for a donor who would be willing to provide us 100-200 square meters of secure warehouse facilities. Beijing or Shanghai locations would be preferable.

Website Development and Hosting
We are seeking a professional design partner who could help World Vision China develop a website design and appearance that is world class and at the same time set up the systems so that we can update and add to the sites easily.

Systems Design and Development
As World Vision’s projects in China have gotten larger and larger, we need to transition to a larger systems level approach to manage our countrywide network or projects. As we develop a large GIK capability, logistics, tracking and other key capabilities need to designed and managed. We are looking for a partner who would be willing to help us as a consultant in this process.
