The Center for International Health (CIH), a not-for-profit organization, was established and organized as a consortium of public and private higher education and professional training institutions, including major universities, and academic health center composed of a medical school and teaching hospitals, and community-based health and human services agencies.
The Center was established in 1986 with a mission to improve global health through international partnerships that offer health education and training strategies which strengthen the clinical, technical and management capabilities of health professionals and programs worldwide.
CIH's strength lies in tailoring training to meet specific programmatic needs. This focused approach is possible only through the expertise and resources of consortium member. Members also enlist others who bring new insight and experiences to bear on global health issues, challenges and opportunities.
